Sailboats on Saturday

Evening all.  Well we've had a cracker of a storm here in Hull today...Mahoosive rumbles of thunder a couple of flashes of lightning and tons of rain (up near my sister had massive hailstones!).  Would of liked the thunder to have been later, I love watching the lightning in the dark  lol

Had a voucher to spend at LOTV so treated myself to some of the boy stamps.  Also received a candy package that I won from  Fleur and couldn't wait to use the gorgeous papers! - thanks Fleur!  The card for today is a result of using some of both as well as a few bits from my stash.  Tried the out of the frame technique for this one which turned out not too bad....also added a bit of glossy accents to make the water look more real.

I have followed sketch 94 from the Sketch and Stash Blog for this card

Spring Feast

Hi everyone, as you can see I'm still in the land of the living!  Been a lovely week here apart from the odd shower so didn't get much crafting done....with the result that I've had three birthday cards to finish this week.  Dug out the spring feast papers for the one I'm showing today, I love the colours in this pack - in fact I love most of the first edition packs, there is always a good mix within them.  Nephew is off to Florida in October so can see a spend coming on in Joanns  lol.

With the weather being so nice we're kind of glad that we're not going away this year (and funds wouldn't allow it anyway, so much I want doing in the house!) but we've decided that next year we're going away....so it was down to the Travel Agents on Sunday and we're now counting the year, months and days till next September when we'll be flying off to Salou for two weeks AI!  I don't like it too hot (just enough to sit out is hot enough for me) so that should be just perfect...can't wait!!

Anyway back to my card for today, it's my nieces birthday on Friday so had two cards to do for her, then I have a friend who's birthday is on Sunday so the other card is for her.  Would have been my Mum's birthday too, we lost her nearly four years ago so although there is no card going to her I just want her to know that we still love and miss her very much.

Enjoy the rest of your week folks xx

Flutterby's n Flowers

Afternoon all, hope you're all well today. Just watched Andy Murray winning the gold medal in the mens singles! Fantastic tennis!!

Exciting visit to the bingo on Friday.....someone shouted on the link on no. 9 for £2800 and my sister only wanted no. 10.  Turned out to be a false call and lo and behold 3 numbers later number 10 arrived!!  Two other clubs had winners too but £900+ wasn't to be sniffed at!  We'd had a couple of other wins so a very productive night on a three way split....wonder if my wish list will get any smaller now!  lol!

Anyway had a couple of cards to do today, one for a 40th birthday.  I was struggling to think what I could do and then remembered the free LOTV images I had saved.  Thought these two worked well together and decided to try my hand for the first time, a double twist easel. Off to have a visit to the LOTV shop...got a voucher to spend and might just make a wee dent in my winnings!  lol

Enjoy the rest of your weekend folks xx
