It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Evening all, hope you're all well.  Haven't been doing much card making lately, was away at Champneys last week for the Spa break that I won.  Hubby and I had an amazing time, it was an overnight stay and it included two treatments each.  Hubby had a massage and a facial and I had a massage and an aromatherapy body wrap....which was amazing!  It included a head massage and that alone was worth the trip!

Been to the cinema today to see Nativity 2, if you get the chance go see it, it's daft but soooo funny and it has David Tennant...what more could you need  lol.  To get me in the mood I made a Christmas card today.  I got a couple of digi stamps from Wee Stamps, this one is Winter Fairy and it was such fun to colour.  Have a few more Christmas cards to be getting on with this week...can't believe that in 4 weeks time I'll be sitting stuffed cos I'll have had my Crimbo dinner!!  Better get cracking, I've got other cards to make before then!  lol

Awesome Candy Alert!!

Been round a few blogs that are advertising this candy this evening soooo just had to go and have a nosey for myself.  There is tons of fabulous stuff HERE.  It's the Kort And Godt's blog and it's well worth a visit.  They are closing the candy on 30th November so you've got loads of time to enter....and I'm sure you'll think it's well worth it when you do.  I've got my fingers, toes and even my eyes crossed for this one! lol

The Witching Hour

Morning all, it's lovely and bright here today...a bit like my card lol.  Took my inspiration from the challenge over at Cards For Men where the colours are Black and Orange.

I love Halloween, especially when the kids come round all dressed up.  I've been busy making and freezing cake pops this week, bought one of those new silicone baking trays - it's taking a bit of practice but most of them came out the right shape lol.  They're still to be decorated but will do that nearer the time.  Pumpkins are bought and in storage ready for carving and the decorations have been dug out of the cupboard!

The rest of my day will be busy today, got a few cards to make.....good job my new Wellington DVD came, think it's going to be getting some battering today!  Enjoy, whatever you're all up to xx

Falling For Autumn

Evening All, hope you've all had a good weekend! It's been pretty quiet here, bingo Friday night (with a nice wee win) and a lazy day yesterday. Had a birthday card to make for nephew's G/F and found these lovely papers in a set from Shabby Princess and knew the perfect stamp to go with them. Just love the colours in this set.

Been to the cinema today, watched Taken 2 and then Paranorman, enjoyed them both and Paranorman had some really funny LOL bits in it! Saw the trailer for Nativity 2 as well....and it also looks as funny as the first one. Hope whatever you've been up to that you've had fun too! xx

Sailboats on Saturday

Evening all.  Well we've had a cracker of a storm here in Hull today...Mahoosive rumbles of thunder a couple of flashes of lightning and tons of rain (up near my sister had massive hailstones!).  Would of liked the thunder to have been later, I love watching the lightning in the dark  lol

Had a voucher to spend at LOTV so treated myself to some of the boy stamps.  Also received a candy package that I won from  Fleur and couldn't wait to use the gorgeous papers! - thanks Fleur!  The card for today is a result of using some of both as well as a few bits from my stash.  Tried the out of the frame technique for this one which turned out not too bad....also added a bit of glossy accents to make the water look more real.

I have followed sketch 94 from the Sketch and Stash Blog for this card

Spring Feast

Hi everyone, as you can see I'm still in the land of the living!  Been a lovely week here apart from the odd shower so didn't get much crafting done....with the result that I've had three birthday cards to finish this week.  Dug out the spring feast papers for the one I'm showing today, I love the colours in this pack - in fact I love most of the first edition packs, there is always a good mix within them.  Nephew is off to Florida in October so can see a spend coming on in Joanns  lol.

With the weather being so nice we're kind of glad that we're not going away this year (and funds wouldn't allow it anyway, so much I want doing in the house!) but we've decided that next year we're going away....so it was down to the Travel Agents on Sunday and we're now counting the year, months and days till next September when we'll be flying off to Salou for two weeks AI!  I don't like it too hot (just enough to sit out is hot enough for me) so that should be just perfect...can't wait!!

Anyway back to my card for today, it's my nieces birthday on Friday so had two cards to do for her, then I have a friend who's birthday is on Sunday so the other card is for her.  Would have been my Mum's birthday too, we lost her nearly four years ago so although there is no card going to her I just want her to know that we still love and miss her very much.

Enjoy the rest of your week folks xx

Flutterby's n Flowers

Afternoon all, hope you're all well today. Just watched Andy Murray winning the gold medal in the mens singles! Fantastic tennis!!

Exciting visit to the bingo on Friday.....someone shouted on the link on no. 9 for £2800 and my sister only wanted no. 10.  Turned out to be a false call and lo and behold 3 numbers later number 10 arrived!!  Two other clubs had winners too but £900+ wasn't to be sniffed at!  We'd had a couple of other wins so a very productive night on a three way split....wonder if my wish list will get any smaller now!  lol!

Anyway had a couple of cards to do today, one for a 40th birthday.  I was struggling to think what I could do and then remembered the free LOTV images I had saved.  Thought these two worked well together and decided to try my hand for the first time, a double twist easel. Off to have a visit to the LOTV shop...got a voucher to spend and might just make a wee dent in my winnings!  lol

Enjoy the rest of your weekend folks xx

Anyway, back in the land of the living today and I've done a card for my Sister/BIL. It's their 33rd Wedding Anniversary tomorrow! I used a precoloured square from LOTV for this card....and at last I've got round to purchasing a couple of Memory Box dies. Can't understand why I didn't get them sooner....I'm in love again lol.

Having a quiet weekend so might even get a few more cards made (dare I say I might even make a start on the C*******s ones! lol). Hope whatever you're all up to that you have fun xx

Strawberries And Cream Tea!

Afternoon all.  Haven't been around much this week, seem to have lots to do and still doesn't look like I've got anywhere at home!  Had a good weekend though, went to Bingo Friday night and had a few wins between my sister and myself, then found someone selling a Big Shot and dies at a really good price......free if you think I paid it with my bingo win  lol....should have had a little dabble on the lottery I think!

Lovely and sunny here in Hull today, just perfect for the card I've got to post. I got the stamp last week and couldn't wait to colour it up and had this paper pack (which was a free gift a while ago) and thought they would work so well together.

As it's the start of Wimbledon and the "Summer" what better than Strawberries! It all puts me in the mood for a lovely cream tea....or failing that I'm heading up to Annan on 6th July for ROM (carnival day) and the baker there does the most fantastic Strawberry Tarts!!...can't wait!

Baby Boy

Evening all, just a quick one tonight as I'm heading out for a darts match.  Had a pretty quiet week up till now and then all of a sudden got a rush on for cards!  Have 3 to make for Friday (good job the boss is away and tomorrow will be play day!  lol).  Today's card is one I've made for one of the ladies who I play darts with.  Her son had a baby boy last week but I wasn't at darts, was too busy getting soaked in Scarborough when we went to see Dionne Warwick.  Was really surreal stood atop the cliffs waiting to board the North Bay railway with a glass of champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other and the rain pelting down, while thunder clapped right above us and lightning forked directly out into the North Sea!  It did dry up by the time Dionne took to the stage so all was not lost.  Not going to bother with the details for this one - most of the elements came from the Me To You CD's (both the original and the Spring Chic) with the addition of some ribbon and gems from stash.  The actual card design was from a tutorial HERE.

Birthday Balloon

Afternoon all, muggy here in Hull today, was looking forward to some thunder yesterday but it didn't happen!  What you all got planned for the Jubilee weekend?  I've not got much on, although on Tuesday we're heading to my sisters for a nice buffet lunch.  Have taken an extra day's holiday on Wednesday as I'm off to see Dionne Warwick in the evening.  I won two tickets a few weeks back and they arrived last week, along with a letter to tell me we had to meet for a VIP reception and then we're being taken to the open air Theatre by miniature railway! - Just hope it's a dry night!

Coloured up an image the other day and made a card and although I liked it when I finished it, it wasn't quite what I wanted, so I coloured another one last night and came up with today's card, which I lurve!  The image was a freebie from Krista at Saturated Canary - she's called Ava and she's gorgeous.

Terrific Teddy Bo!

Morning all, from a gorgeous sunny, warm Hull.....watch it rain tomorrow when I'm off! lol. Hope you're all having a great day, I'm at work but it's quiet which on one hand is good cos I can get round some blogs and add my post but on the other it means when I move downstairs this afternoon I'll be bored!. I've had a few cards to make lately but some are very similar to others that I've done (same layouts, different colours) so haven't bored you with them all. The one today is made using the free Teddy Bo Stamp from Simply Cards and Papercrafts. I went into Morrisons yesterday and the lady was just putting out puzzle magazines. I asked her to check to see if this one is in...been waiting patiently since I heard what the free gift was lol. Anyway she said it was on her list and very kindly went and looked through all the bundles on her trolley....it wasn't there, luckily before I burst into tears she said she had another trolley load. So she went and got one for me and I wasn't disappointed! The stamps and sentiments are gorgeous, it was a really good clear image when I stamped it. Hope you all have a great weekend....if it stays like this I might even fire up the Barbie!

He's Just Boofle!

Afternoon all, for a change the sun's actually shining here - although I have my doubts how long it will stay. Hope you all had a fab bank holiday weekend. Mine was pretty quiet, managed to catch up on loads of TV programmes and a couple of little books on my kindle....I keep downloading them, at the last count I had 70 still to read! lol

Today's card is for my stepdaughter. It's the first card I've made from the Boofle CD and I can see him becoming another favourite. I love all the colours in the range. There is a fab embossing folder out to go with it (patchwork) but the Range didn't have it when I visited last week, must keep an eye out as it's boofle too! lol

No recipe for this card today, most of it came from the CD with the addition of some backing paper/gems and ribbon from my stash.

My Luck Is Changing!

Well, for a change I seem to have hit a lucky streak (If only it would spread to a nice bingo win! lol). I won a radio/website competition just the other week for an overnight spa break for two people (inc meals and two treatments each and travel expenses). Last week I won tickets to see Dionne Warwick and today I've found out I'm one of the winners in the April Docrafts draw for some Boofle Goodies!!. Think this might be the time to give them lottery balls a spin! Speaking of which the card today is one I've made in advance for my BIL. It's not his birthday till June but got the image and thought I might as well get the card made. It's a bugaboo stamp and I know it will appeal to his sense of humour.

Birthday Wishes

Well, think I'm eventually back to normal. After my week off, came back and had quite a busy time of it. Had so much telly to catch up on, even the card making took a back seat!! Back in the swing now and hoping to get caught up on some blog hopping in the next couple of days. Sorry if I haven't been visiting and leaving comments, but life kinda got in the way a bit! Card today was requested by a work colleague. Managed to break my little display stand after photographing this one (it fell off the desk and snapped) so will have to get to the Works for a replacement!.

No need for the recipe on this one, most of the stuff was from my stash with the addition of some papers from the Spring Chic CD and one of the Me To You toppers that they sell in the Range.

Criss Cross Crazy!

Hi everyone hope this post finds you all well. Nearing the month end so work a bit busy this week so having to do my cards on a night before the light goes.....still haven't got round to getting that bulb! The card I'm showing today was a request for a "special" card for a 65th Wedding Anniversary so I'm hoping this one will fit the bill. It's the first time I've done a Criss Cross Card and I quite enjoyed doing it....so there could be more of these on the way lol. I got out my enveloplus too to make a matching envelope/box - was for my birthday in September but it would have been rude not to try it woudn't it lol.

Super Saturday

Hi everyone, how's the weather with you today. It's not too bad here, dulled over earlier but has stayed dry. Didn't think I'd get any cards done with it being so dull, but seems to have brightened up a bit so have made one and another is in the planning. Today's card isn't the one I've been making though, I made this one earlier in the week to pop in with my Candy that I sent to Caz. Good old FF CD came out again, don't know what I ever did before I got this....and today I've just received the Me To You Spring Chic one in the post so there could be a few to follow from this one! Thank goodness for Ebay, managed to get it quite a bit cheaper than C&C so it's smiles all round today.  Sorry it's not the best picture, had to take the pic in poor light as I needed it ready to get in the post!

Afternoon all! Hope the weather's good where you are, it's cold, grey and wet here in Hull today :-( Came back to work on Monday and totally forgot one of the girls birthday's so had to make a card last night as she was in today again. I struggled a bit with the light because I didn't get home until nearly 6pm but am quite happy with how it came out (except where I put some stickles and then wished I hadn't lol)....note to self...get a daylight lamp!
